Irelands premier and award winning Metal Music Podcast. The Metal Cell Podcast sets out to promote the Irish Metal Scene by talking to the bands, promoters, artists and fans of this musical genre. I hope to interview as many generations as possible involved in the Irish Metal community from those who create the music, design the artwork, promote the gigs or simply fans of the music itself. It's one of the most exciting times ever to be a Metal fan in Ireland with so many home grown and international metal bands touring our cities and releasing incredible music. This Podcast has become a solid link in communicating our voices throughout the world wide Metal community. The bonds forged in the Metal Scene are strong, loyal and lasting. Friendships created that traverse oceans and continents, which saw the podcast charting in Europe, the America's, and Asia. Thank you all for listening and for your support, Richie. #supportyourlocalmetalscene

In this episode of The Metal Cell Podcast, we sit down with Deserted, the Cork-based death metal band tearing through the Irish scene.
Formed in 2023, the lads have blended old-school brutality with modern aggression to create their signature sound — showcased in their debut EP Madness of War and their crushing new single Mental Breakdown.
Recorded in The Metal Cell Studios, this conversation dives into Deserted’s formation, lineup changes, creative process, and the making of their upcoming album “Brothers Betrayal.”
Listeners will also get to hear two exclusive new tracks from the band — aired here for the very first time.
If you’re into Irish metal, underground death metal, or just love hearing passionate musicians talk about their craft, this one’s unmissable.

It was an honour to sit down with the great Sakis of Rotting Christ and talk about Heretics, art, inspiration and the importance of connecting with metal fans through his music. Even though it was a short conversation, I was able to take away from it a man of unshakable faith in the music he creates for his fans, knowing that the joy that he generates for us metalheads playing Rotting Christ's music brings him absolute happiness.

The Metal Cell was delighted to host Nathanael/vox & guitars and Flow/drums of Damim before they went onstage and gave a blistering performance to a packed crowd in Cyprus Avenue. They gave a great insight into the workings of Damim, by talking through the recording of their terrifc album 'A Fine Game of Nil', the filming of 'Rising of the Lights' video, signing with Apocalyptic Witchcraft and future plans as well. It was a pleasure to be in such fine company and I'm really looking forward to catching these lads again on tour.

The Metal Cell sat down with these three purveyors of filthy chaotic death before they went on stage to heaving hordes of fist raising metallers. Pauric/vox, Matt/guitars and Tom/guitars talk about the loss Andy, laugh about it, change their mind and then talk about finding friends with benefits. A good chat about Invictus Productions follows, trying to write new songs, upcoming shows and Matt's pride of the Mayo jersey. Great craic and lovely chaps!
